• I’m here today because God performed a miracle and saved my life.

I was scuba diving in the kelp beds of Catalina when my dive buddy ran out of air and panicked.   He grabbed my regulator and as we began an emergency ascent we hit the kelp beds head on…

  • As I’m biting the kelp I could see the blue sky above me and I thought God, this can’t be happening to me, I’m supposed to graduate next week!

  • …Now I’d like to say that, after that, I committed my life to Jesus but some of us are real stubborn. I wanted to be the one in control of my life; I wanted to call the shots, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do, or be…What was the purpose of my life? Why are we here? Is this it? Is this all there is??
  • And I had a void in my life. I’d live for the weekend and then get depressed on Sunday afternoon knowing I had to go to work on Monday.  No matter what I did, the happiness wouldn’t last; it would be over too quickly.

  • Then my roommate Donna gave us tickets to go to Knott’s Berry Farm.  It just happened to be Christian Night at Knott’s so they had a Concert and all these young people were waving their arms in the air and singing along and I thought, “Wow! Maybe this isn’t just for old people!”
  • Between songs, they were talking about JESUS and how He could come into your life and make it complete, if you just asked him in…That night, I asked Jesus into my life.  I found out later in the parking lot, that Rick had too!

  • That was in October 1980, and now we’re the old people!   It’s been an exciting adventure, and

The BEST thing that happened with Jesus in my life,  is that I now know what my Purpose in Life is, and I don’t feel like anything’s missing.  I know   I am   complete.
